About me
I am an accidental librarian and even more accidental Promotions and Marketing coordinator. I started my library career 13 1/2 years ago as a part time Children's Librarian Clerk, Then a year later I moved to Children's Librarian, where I did Children's programing and all the marketing.
Then I moved to just being the Promotions and Marketer and Here I am now now. I have a Bachelors Degree in Pre-Law, and a side business of Photography.
I used my photography and graphic design skills to promote the library.
I love my job, creating and designing social media, flyer promotional materials etc.
Changes in management have made my job not so fun in the past few year but I am trying to enjoy and excel in my job even in the face of enormous obstacle. I care about our library and libraries in general so I keeping pushing forward.
We just went through a major county rebranding, which included the library. We were under the county umbrella but were unique with our own logo, now we are under the County's logo and I am struggling with Branding and adjusting. I use to have autonomy is my job but now I have a county communications director who oversees things and I don't know were to find the balance with being true to the library and its need and the county branding.
I'd love any advice I can get!
